The Pennsylvania State House of Representatives has defeated a state wide bill to force drivers to put down their cell phones while driving. The Vote was 100-95 against an amendment that would require drivers to replace hand-held cell phones with hands free devices.
Statistics for 2008 listed 1,049 accidents involving hand-held phones and just 50 accidents involving hands-free phones. A recent poll by Quinnipiac University found that more than 8 in 10 Pennsylvanians support a ban on hand-held cell phones.
Once again our elected officials are not interested in doing the will of the people of Pennsylvania.
