The Lehigh Valley loses out on the proposed “Bicycling Hall of Fame”. The Lehigh Valley was removed from consideration for the location of the “Hall of Fame” this week. Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham had offered 8 acres of property next to the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown for the hall. The county could not offer a long-term financial commitment to the Hall of Fame’s relocation committee. Apparently the world renowned cycling tradition of the Velodrome was not enough to overcome the significant financial commitment proposed by the two remaining contenders, Davis California and Greensboro North Carolina.

The Celtic Classic was held again this year in Bethlehem, PA. from
September 26 to 28, 2008. It is the Largest Highland Games & Festival in North America and is held under the Hill to Hill Bridge in Bethlehem. This was the 21st annual Celtic Classic presented by Celtic Cultural Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the Celtic heritage through education, musical presentations, and traditional competitions in athletics, piping and dance.

We had a great time again this year at the Spring Thaw Rendezvous which is hosted every year by the Northampton Fire Department. There was entertainment by DJ Hammer from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and the Ozone Riders were on stage from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
